An independent charity in Shropshire providing young people with a brighter and more promising future has received investment from the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Community Fund.

Funding from the PCC, with the application submitted by West Mercia Police’s Inspector Claire Greenaway, will go towards equipment and resources, staffing, and marketing to raise awareness of drop-sessions for young people.

Helping to steer young people away from crime and negative influence, the sessions add to the circuit of youth clubs and youth clinics which have already been launched to reduce crime rates in the area.

PCC John Campion said: “I am committed to ensuring everyone in the community, including young people, are safe and feel safe.

“The invaluable work the 4 All Foundation is doing, is really helping to support young people to provide them with a more positive direction and ensure they are on the right path.”

Inspector Claire Greenaway, covering the Safer Neighbourhood Team in North Shropshire, said: “This funding will allow us to work with young people on the periphery of crime steer away from it, and it will also help us to engage with younger people in Shropshire using the clubs.”
